Liminal Privacy Policy

LIMINAL – PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: April 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Liminal app (“the App”), developed by R.A. Marno, trading as CoreShift Studios.

1. Who We Are

The App is published by R.A. Marno / CoreShift Studios. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at coreshiftstudioapps@gmail.com

2. What Data We Collect

The App collects and stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Reading list progress, writing notes, and any text you save within the App
  • Subscription status, cached locally for offline access

Reading progress and notes stay on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.

Subscription status is also synchronised with RevenueCat (see Section 4) so your Premium access can be restored if you reinstall the App or move to a new device. No personal data is required for this – RevenueCat identifies your purchase by an anonymous identifier, not by name or email.

If you use the Manuscript Feedback feature in the Writing Room, the text you submit is sent to our processing service for analysis. This text is processed and immediately discarded – it is not stored, logged, or used for any other purpose.

3. What Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not require account creation
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal profile
  • We do not track your location
  • We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs
  • We do not sell data to third parties

4. Third-Party Services

The App connects to the following third-party services:

Google Play Billing – processes subscription payments for Liminal Premium. Your card details are handled entirely by Google – we never see or store them. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

Apple App Store / In-App Purchase – processes subscription payments for Liminal Premium on iOS devices. Your card details are handled entirely by Apple – we never see or store them. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy

Anthropic Claude API – powers the Manuscript Feedback feature. Text you submit for feedback is passed through our Cloudflare Worker proxy to Anthropic’s API, processed, and discarded. Anthropic’s privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy

Wikipedia API – used to retrieve historical events for the On This Day feature. No personal data is sent to Wikipedia.

RSS Feeds – the App fetches publicly available RSS feeds from Literary Hub, The Guardian, The Paris Review, and ramarno.co.uk to display literary news. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.

5. Data Retention

Subscription status and any reading progress data stored locally remains on your device until you uninstall the App. Manuscript text submitted for feedback is not retained by us at any point.

6. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at ramarno.co.uk/liminal-privacy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
